Bedroom is that area of the house where we tend to live the most. Since it is the private part of the house where no guests are generally allowed in, we tend to overlook settling the rooms. As a result your bedroom faces the space crunch the most. Moreover the apartments these days are quite small and have a lack of space.
So what can you do to save the space in your bedroom? The best way is to get those futon furniture which can be disassembled quite easily. You could also save space with the help of that two-in one furniture. A sofa cum bed takes up a lot less space than the sofa and bed. Other additions to the room, like the hanger hooks on the wall do a great deal to save up space. Wall cupboards could be used as storage for clothes. You could also cover up a clothes storage bin and use it up as a lamp.

Renovating or redecorating a room is fun and challenging and at the same time allows you a new place to live in without shifting house. Often people redecorate their rooms with just a lick of new paint but if you want to go all out its best to consider doing one room at a time to avoid any inconvenience and or accidents.
Starting with a theme in mind, work out the possibilities after consulting your budget and time at hand. If you have no themes try the tried and tested method of looking for inspiration within your existing décor or for that matter existing memorabilia.
An object de art or even a painting can set the tone of décor quite simply. Put your plans on paper and start with one room at time generally from inside out. Always leave the kitchen for last and never begin all bathrooms at once.

Stairs
Indoor steps can be designed and put up using traditional methods or with help from a number of relevant software available to do the job efficiently. However it pays to check with your local building authorities for any restrictions or regulations before you plan the actual assembly.
The first step is to calculate the rise and run of the staircase as well as the number of risers required to cover the climb. Also take into consideration any landings or turns in stairs at this point itself.
Once the measurement falls into plan select the material you would want to use to that end. Wood is the preferred choice in most homes in the United States.
Finally cut all the stringers, riser boards, rails and decks as per the measurement with a saw and thread them into place starting from the top after the stringers and riser boards have been installed.

Wall Care
Any and all imperfections in a wall can be hidden with textured paints. Regardless of the various treatments available today its better to create a texture that blends in with the other décor elements of the said room.
Once you have chosen the type of texture clear the room of all furniture and other items and lay a protective covering on the floor. Cover electric switch boards and outlets. Sand the designated area to strip existing layers of paint and to create a rough surface for primer application.
Let the primer dry before you start the final paint. Mix the textured paint as per the directions on the tin. Spray, roll or trowel the textured element onto the wall. Some treatments may require the use of towels or rags to get the desired effect.
Leave the first coat to dry and apply the next coats drying efficiently in between coats.

Stairs
Stair posts are necessary to prevent accidents and injuries especially in homes that have children. Attaching stair posts is relatively easy if the design element of the staircase and hand rails are simple.
Armed with a measuring tape, L brackets, specified nails and your tool box measure the height between the uppermost and lower most handrails for each flight of steps separately incase steps are broken in between by multiple landings. This way you get the correct measurement for each stair post.
Cut each post to the recommended size and at 45 degree angles so as to fit the handrail perfectly. Fix each post to the stair case with L brackets on four sides.
Similarly attach L brackets to the top level of the posts and fix them to the hand rails. Ensure that the hand rails and the stair posts are flush with each other at all the joints.

Cabinets are generally restored fully or partially depending on the degree of wear and tear they have been subjected to. A partial finish means to refinish the surface to obtain the lost shine.
To fully restore cabinets empty them of their contents and take them apart using a screwdriver. Lay the doors on newspapers on the floor and save the screws and hinges that are in good condition for later use. Sand the doors as well as cabinets to remove the shine without destroying any design details.
Wipe off any residual dust after sanding and apply a layer of polyurethane and leave to dry for at least six hours. Buff lightly and apply the next coat and repeat again allowing sufficient drying time in between coats.
Rebuff and apply the last coat letting the cabinet doors dry overnight or more depending on the weather. Once done reassemble all the cabinets.
