Stairs
Are you planning to remodel your home? Painting or bringing in some new furniture is not the only way to enhance the beauty of your home. Well, you can work on your indoor staircase to add some extra charm to your home décor.
You can go for the spiral staircases in place of the traditional ones. This will not only lend an attractive look, but you will find a bit of more space inside your home. If you want a sophisticated look, choose the wooden spiral staircase. If you desire for the elegant look, the wrought iron ones will be your choice.
You should also install a good railing that will match with your staircase. Your staircase might ruin the entire beauty, if a proper railing is not installed. If you have children at home go for a strong railing material to ensure safety. There must be proper lighting on the staircases. This will give a bright and warm feel along with providing safety.

Indoor steps can be designed and put up using traditional methods or with help from a number of relevant software available to do the job efficiently. However it pays to check with your local building authorities for any restrictions or regulations before you plan the actual assembly.
The first step is to calculate the rise and run of the staircase as well as the number of risers required to cover the climb. Also take into consideration any landings or turns in stairs at this point itself.
Once the measurement falls into plan select the material you would want to use to that end. Wood is the preferred choice in most homes in the United States.
Finally cut all the stringers, riser boards, rails and decks as per the measurement with a saw and thread them into place starting from the top after the stringers and riser boards have been installed.

Stair posts are necessary to prevent accidents and injuries especially in homes that have children. Attaching stair posts is relatively easy if the design element of the staircase and hand rails are simple.
Armed with a measuring tape, L brackets, specified nails and your tool box measure the height between the uppermost and lower most handrails for each flight of steps separately incase steps are broken in between by multiple landings. This way you get the correct measurement for each stair post.
Cut each post to the recommended size and at 45 degree angles so as to fit the handrail perfectly. Fix each post to the stair case with L brackets on four sides.
Similarly attach L brackets to the top level of the posts and fix them to the hand rails. Ensure that the hand rails and the stair posts are flush with each other at all the joints.

Design & Architecture,
Stairs
To create a balcony within your house you must have a room that has a two-story ceiling and must preferably be a living area.
Similarly this new architectural element must match the existing décor of your house to avoid a sore thumb situation. Choose the room where you want to carry out your plan and take appropriate measurements for the run and rise of the staircase from the floor to the landing that will become the overlooking balcony.
Select the form of stairs and placement for e.g. a traditional décor looks best with a curved stairway while a contemporary design calls for sleek straight lines. Next pick out the type of stair posts that will best match your décor and flooring options for the stairs.
Ensure that each design element complements the other while blending in with the whole and hire a professional or plan to complete the project yourself.
